In high school when you were getting graduation presents of laptops, cars, and college wardrobes, I was reveling in my front seat Lord of the Dance tickets at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. My dad surprised me with the tickets for graduation and I was elated. Whether it’s Michael Flatley and his host of professional fiddlers and shimmering velvet-clad dancers or BYU’s Folk Dance Team performing Celt Attack, I can’t get enough. I just love Irish dancing, particularly hard shoe is most fascinating to me. Where do these types of qwirky infatuations come from? My sister is a great Irish dancer, my mom a fiddler, and my dad revels in our Irish heritage, but it seems that Michael Flatley-esque performances are a little more outlandish than that. Ha!So, what was the best surprise from Mitch on Christmas morning? Amazing seats to Riverdance. For tonight. In 10 hours. Although I have 4 hours of class after work today, and mounds of reading and writing to complete, I am ecstatic anticipating high-speed electric fiddles and quick step hard shoe rhythms.

How fun! I remember when I was introduced to it in 96 by my clogging teacher (Gary Larson) who was on the Folk Dance Team at BYU. I loved it too. My sister was on the Folk Dance team for the past 4 years and is now on Dance Ensemble at BYU. I love watching their performances...so much talent. Have Fun!
That is pretty hilarious...and I must confess that I've always had a secret yearning to go to one of those performances. After reading your enthusiastic post, I guess now I have to!
