Conference

Since the General Relief Society session on Saturday, I've been thinking a lot about conference coming up this weekend. It seems like every time conference comes around, Mitch and I have lots to think and pray about.

It is such a blessing to live so close to Temple Square. On Saturday I was able to go to the session at the conference center with a friend from my ward; we were especially excited to see Silvia Allred, who is in our ward! Her husband is our bishop, so they are quite a busy team. A lot of people have asked me what she's like at church, does she come a lot?, etc. At first I thought I'd never see at her at church, assuming she had a busy schedule with lots of travel. However, she is at church every Sunday, always there early, very attentive, and seems to make brilliant comments at always the right time (you know, when someone gets a little upset or says something that isn't completely true :).

So, back to Saturday night... My friend from church brought her good friend to the session, who is inactive and had asked to come with us to the session. This girl is currently engaged and thinking about trying to go to the temple, so she can be sealed there. My friend and I were filled with chills when Silvia gave her talk about the temple--what to expect, the importance of going, preparation, and more. We were so glad her friend decided to come to hear that talk. I truly feel it was inspired.

It will be interesting to see what other inspired talks come forward this weekend. Happy conferencing :)
