This past week we went to Emerson’s 15 month checkup. Once your baby is a running child, it gets a lot more tricky at the doctor’s office. He can now reach and open levered door knobs, so he was trying to escape, run down the halls, and even turned off the scale while he was being weighed! Just imagine my pregnant self chasing him. Funny and tiring thought, huh? Here are his 15 month stats: Weight: 22.5 lbs (25%), Height: 33 inches (91%), Head: 75%. Our lollipop child continues his growth pattern.
I may have forgotten to blog about this jean jacket our friends got Emerson—its cuteness kills me.
Our favorite things about this age:
- He gives kisses when we ask and pats us on the back when we give him hugs.
- When he says Uh-Oh and Oops when he drops something.
- When we find he has somehow climbed into our window sill, using the table as his ladder, and is playing happily along the 6-inch wide ledge, behind the blinds totally unaware of how high he his and how badly he’d be hurt if he fell.
- How he has always been so good at understanding everything we say which helps me all the time—go get your cup, grab a diaper, put your toys away, find your blankey, etc. I’m hoping this comes in handy with baby #2 as in go get me a burp rag or some diapers!
- Using his baby signs for all done, more, thank you, and milk. After doing those signs with him for the past year, I’m so glad they’re finally paying off.
Here are some shots from the month:
Obsessed with his stacking blocks. He’ll play with them for an hour at a time. When I’m cooking he’ll bring them into the kitchen, get some pots out, and start putting blocks in. I think he wants to be my sous chef.
Just playing with my oven mitt.
Our little left-handed guy. Coloring is one of new favorite activities.
Pool time with E’s buds and the dads. And of course the bath that followed—chaos!
Hanging out at lunch with Hutch.
Hanging out with his girlfriends London and Tawny at the aquarium. Yes, we are yearly pass holders because E cannot get enough.
The only way to catch this kid lounging? Sesame Street, Baby Einstein, or Blues Clues. (Although Blues Clues does make me nauseous because he watched it every day when I was throwing up in my first trimester.)
Check out E tickling Hutch’s feet. If you come to our house and take your shoes off, he will tickle you.
I have to say, the older E gets the more fun he is. Love you bud.
We spend most Sundays at church rotating who roams the halls with Emerson. Mitch will take first hour, I’ll take second, he’ll take third. We are all (Emerson included) counting down the days until he’s 18 months and can go to nursery—every Sunday he walks by the nursery and bangs on the gate, jealously watching the other kids play with toys! Maybe we’ll try to sneak him in there a little early.

That tickling picture is the best! Love his bright red cheeks.
And his tie in the first picture? I need to get my boy one of those.
I can't wait to see him!! He is SO handsome and looks like a big boy. A great mix of you and Mitch. :)
Ah he is so cute! It's fun that there are so many little ones his age in our neighborhood. And I can't wait to see baby number two! And I'll stop with the comments about now.
