E’s First Ski Day

For the past couple of months Mitch has been wanting to get Emerson on skis. He thought about skiing with him in the hiking backpack, as we’ve seen some people do, but that still seemed a little dangerous. So we thought we’d try to get him up next season when E is two; last week, however, some friends suggested we take our boys (17 months and 16 months) up this season before the resorts close. We thought, well Emerson is kind of a little daredevil, so maybe he’ll like it? We had no idea just how much.

I’ve never been able to get so many pictures of Emerson laughing out loud, giggling, and smiling. He was absolutely loving it. He was laughing the whole time, despite the cold day and blizzard conditions. Here are some pictures of our little 17 month-old skier.

Mitch and Anthony ran around with the boys and then did a couple runs themselves, while Rene and I snapped pictures and videos.

 

The huge April snowstorm on Saturday didn’t even bother me because this guy had such a good time. We will definitely be trying to take Emerson as much as we can from now on—it is awesome seeing your child squeal with excitement as they slide down the hill.
