I just love this time of year. There is something so wonderful about everyone being happy, being kind, and enjoying each other’s company. That and listening to Christmas music which I love! Mitch gets sick of it pretty quickly, but luckily he isn’t home all day to rock out to Harry Connick Jr. and Justin Bieber with me and the kids. Emerson goes crazy when we have little dance parties!
So even though I’ve been shaken up about our move, I really can’t be too upset because it is the week before Christmas. I am grateful for this time of year to reflect on what is most important—our Savior and the opportunity we have in this life to grow, change, better ourselves and overcome weaknesses to become more like Him. We are so lucky to live in a time with the Gospel restored to the earth.
And… I love giving gifts. I may have gone a little overboard this year getting presents for Mitch and the kids. I guess that’s what happens when you have a side account from your business (read non-budgeted money—very bad for me!), start buying Christmas presents 3 months in advance, and then (like yesterday) go to your gift stash and realize you have too many gifts! I’m working on that for next year, so please remind me: FEWER gifts!
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
- Making lots of caramels
-Making these delicious Lion House rolls way too frequently (hey, I need to use up my yeast before we move, right?):
And just to brighten your day, here is a picture of Vieve in her Christmas Sunday best. I decided to put her in her Christmas dress last Sunday and on Christmas, because I’d really prefer to have her wear that dress at least twice! It is a size 12 mo (she is tall!) so I’m actually hoping she can wear it again next year. Love this sweet little girl of ours.

I LOVE HER!!! She is the most beautiful little lady ever!
What if you don't have a side-account and still go crazy buying presents? Oops.
And UT must be different than CA...people were not friendly yesterday. Especially at Anthropologie, in the 25-min line to CHECK OUT. Especially that one woman who had a stroller, but was holding her 25-lb toddler who wanted to touch everything, who was giving dirty looks and mumbling passive aggressive remarks under her breath to the lady in front of her who kept getting in & out of line. Oh wait...
I was going to say that I couldn't decide which was my favorite picture - the caramels or the rolls...but then I saw Vieve! That dress is perfect. Festive but not too Christmas-y.
Oh my goodness...I just want to keep her! Good bread is my weakness, and those rolls look amazing! I too love getting the perfect gift(s) for my husband and kids.
