6 Months

Our computer is getting packed up tomorrow (with all our stuff!) so I’m trying to get caught up, even though we just got back from a going away party and have a million things to do tonight. (Sigh.) This little girl turned 6 months this weekend. I can't believe it has been half a year already. So much has happened since little Vieve came along—knee surgery, new job for Mitch, moving, our little print shop growing and growing. She has been a blessing through it all. She is such a happy little person. I often find myself stopping whatever I’m doing (even when I have a long list of things to do for our move) and just sitting and playing with her while Emerson naps. It’s our girl time. We have so much fun together. However, I must say she is far more enamored with her daddy. She is borderline obsessed with Mitch. Wherever he is, if he’s in the same room as her, she’s looking at him. She laughs so hard when he tickles her too… it just melts my heart.
We just had her 6-month checkup today. She weighed only 12.1 lbs (3rd%) but was 26 inches tall (50%) and had a head circumference of 42 cm (40%). If the same smallness hadn’t happened to E, I’d be a bit more worried, but she eats all the time and is even taking bottles now. In every category she is just a tiny bit smaller than E was (1 lb. lighter, 1 inch shorter, 1 cm smaller head). She is just so tiny! We love this little lady.

Vieve is still pretty much 100% opposite of Emerson at this age—she is verbal and interactive with us but barely moves at all. She sits still on our laps, barely moves on the floor, and if you sit her on a chair or in the Bumbo she’ll stay put for at least a 1/2 hour. On the plane last weekend she just sat happily on my lap the whole time. It’s crazy to me because Emerson couldn’t sit still for even 10 seconds. I’m loving it. Mitch and I keep joking she’s going to be 2 years-old saying “carry me daddy!” and refuse to walk.
Love you sweet girl.

She is a doll and looks so much like Emmerson. Good luck on your move and I wish you the best in Minnesota.
