When I was a kid I remember Halloween just being a one night kind of deal… but now I feel like it lasts for a week. Last weekend we had our trunk or treat, a murder mystery party with friends, then this week a Halloween party at E’s preschool, trick or treating at Mitch’s office, and then finally trick or treating on Halloween night. I think there’s been a little too much candy around here (for me and my kids!). They’ve really had a lot of fun though and I have to say with the kids getting older Halloween is a lot more fun. They were SO excited all month to dress up in our family costume.
Here we are at the trunk or treat—our BYU family—a football player, cheerleader, football, Bronco, and a cougar. We had so much fun! And our car lineup outside… it was really cold already. Oh Minnesota just stay warm for another month please!
And here we are at the murder mystery. Do you recognize me?? ;)
Mitch was assigned to dress like a gladiator and I was assigned to dress as a geisha… it was so fun getting into the costume and everyone at the party did such an awesome job on their costumes! It really made it so fun. It’s awesome getting assigned a role because you don’t spend time thinking of what to be, but just get to go all out with your assignment!
And here I am on Halloween morning… I got my kids by wearing this witch hat and cackling from the other room while they were eating breakfast. It was pretty funny. I wore the hat almost all day (Except at library storytime).
We made these little treat bags for E’s friends at his preschool party. I’m kind of obsessed with Kit Kats.
Trick or treating at daddy’s office! Vieve LOVED it. (How could she not? Lots of free candy and everyone telling her how cute she was? She was in heaven.)
And trick-or-treating with our friends last night… I’d say there were definitely too many of us. All these kids made a huge pileup at the doors but hey they had a great time.
Whew, I’m exhausted from all this Halloweening. I know Halloween is kind of a silly holiday but my kids really did have so much fun dressing up. It made me like it a lot more. Until next year …
