Just an Amazing Weekend

What else can I say about our trip to California, except that it was amazing. Besides the expected nastiness of the gas station bathrooms on the drive and the 10 hour car ride, we had a ridiculously fun time at Sarah and Patrick's wedding. I'd say the hugeness of the 22 person wedding party, Mitch & I both being in the wedding, and the day at the private beach had something to do with it. Thank you Sarah for being the best planner out there.

There was only one moment when I got scared--when Patrick got cupcake frosting on Sarah's new Anthro shirt at the rehearsal dinner. All of a sudden an army of bridesmaids attacked Sarah to scrub the frosting off and salvage the shirt. Meredith, trying to be super positive, told Sarah, "hey, it's good this happened on your shirt and not on your wedding dress tomorrow!" To which Sarah respondend, "yeah, but I'm only wearing the dress once--I'm going to wear this shirt a lot!" Good point.

So with virtually the entire wedding party burned, we attended quite possibly the most fun reception I've been to yet... munching on everything from French brie, to Sprinkles cupcakes and coconut shrimp. Thank you Bob Cowan!

A couple other highlights: singing at the top of our lungs to Dashboard in the car, eating at BJs in Laguna with Mere and James, seeing Elise my best friend from college/ freshman roomie (and her hubby Jason)!!, the gorgeous San Diego temple and crying like a baby at the sealing, being with LAURA!, dancing to the fabulous 80s band Essence at the reception, seeing two of our best friends happier than they've ever been, learning Melissa's life story on the way home...
