For the past couple weeks I've been reading A Return To Modesty by Wendy Shalit (author of Girls Gone Mild). I can't help but mentally cheer her on as she dispels the myths of modesty among women, primarily in her bridge between feminism and conservative modesty. I'm only half way through the book, so this is in no means a full review, but I feel so strongly about her assertion that the best way to make a stance for women is to be modest in dress and action. Everywhere we look women are miserable. Shalit argues that we must return to modesty to truly be happy, that through modesty we make the ultimate stance for womanhood--respected, intelligent, and removed from the shallow throes and expectations of many men. I love modesty!And for those of you not on Facebook... my new cut :)
