My auntie.

Sickness has been on my mind this week. My aunt Melissa was just diagnosed with uterine cancer, among many other serious health issues she already faces including Chron’s Disease. She was diagnosed with Chron’s in her 30s. She was an extremely healthy and active person (and still seems so now if you know her ;). She was a competitive tennis player and equestrian, and has always been a daredevil skier. She was a VP of a large insurance company in Boston and really had a great life—educated, accomplished, active, and always upbeat. Since she’s had the Chron’s diagnosis, she’s tried to never let it get to her, even when they removed her colon. She goes on regular skiing trips to Cannon, Stowe, and Park City with her husband (she taught him how to ace the double blacks!), she always took my sister and I to Boston for shopping adventures, and on trips up the coast to Maine. She even flew out to Provo on a whim when she found out I was graduating early. I love this wonderful lady! Mitch and I as well as my sister and her husband will be fasting for her this weekend. This seems a little weird to me to ask via blog, but if you know her we’d welcome any thoughts or prayers or positive energy you could send her way… we really appreciate it.
