Worst dates in history and the return of Thursday nights.

Yesterday I talked to a good friend who was taken on a group date whale watching just off the LA coast. Several minutes after the boat got going, she started to feel nauseated. Holding her stomach she ran to the boat’s bathroom and threw up. She figured the sickness was out of her and went back to rejoin the group, slightly embarrassed. Seconds later, she’s sprinting to the bathroom to throw up again. She’s there for TWO hours throwing up. When they dock, she quickly gets off to get her land legs back, and quickly finds herself running to a public metal trash can to throw up. Enough details—she threw up 15 times that day! Luckily it was a blind date with a guy from out of town.

Her story quickly reminded me of the “worst date” sagas told at BYU. A couple months ago Mitch & I were on a group date talking about these—hearing about a guy at BYU who supposedly soiled his pants after an Indian dinner, and other stories like this. Mitch and I then chimed in—“Oh we have this friend who got left at a hockey game when she went to use the bathroom and everyone left!” We couldn’t remember who it was and for weeks we kept trying to remember which friend that was. About a month later we were watching reruns of The Office. Lo and behold. It was PAM who got left at the hockey game by ROY! This is slightly pathetic but shows how much The Office is a part of our lives. Seriously, they are our friends (they just don’t know it).

The Office is back on April 10th!

Aahh, The Office. For old time's sake I think we should ride around Salt Lake on the bus watching old episodes with shared ear buds and disrupting fellow riders with our random outbursts of laughter. Good times, good times.
