Off to Nevada

Well here it goes. Today I am off to Nevada for the following adventures with my program:
-Camping at the KOA Campground on the Las Vegas Strip (my professors think the juxtaposition of the city and camping will be amazing; I am just scared)
-Visiting the Nevada Nuclear Test Site (I had to sign a health waiver with my insurance provider and the test site just to go; let’s just say I’m also a little scared about this one)
-Seeing “Double Negative” (to likely be the highlight of my trip; this is an awesome piece of desert land art created by Mike Heizer)
-Others include: spending hours cramped in a van with the classmates who I spend at least 20 hours a week with (no offense here), eating lots of trail mix, bringing my own water to escape the carcinogens of desert H20, frantically checking work emails on my phone to divert some of the stress I will no doubt feel on Monday morning when I return, and of course, missing my husband and my blog!!

They make you sign a waiver at the test site just in case you grow an extra nose! Take some pepper spray after watching CSI: Las Vegas, I think I am an expert. JK. but seriously, be careful the Vegas Strip is a nasty part of town!
