What do you make of this ad?

We saw this in SF and honestly could not figure it out. Thoughts?

okay, maybe that was a rhetorical question and i'm a dork for actually answering...but tylenol's newest ad campaign, "stop think", is all about "genuine concern" for the patient. in their commercials they say, "if you're going to misuse our product we'd rather you not use it." so maybe they're saying, if you're going to forego food and get headaches and take our product to combat the headache, you're better off just eating.

hmmm, this was a pretty debbie-downer response. sorry.

I have to say... the response previous by kevin, danica and claire was very well thought out... you would think, that being an Ad major from BYU that i would be able to understand this ad. I can't. What in the Heck are they trying to say? Maybe their hope is that people will be confused by it, post it on their blog and get free advertising. Viral Buzz... good work Tylenol.

PS. Ash's vote is that "taking tylenol will make you feel like eating a full glass of fruit and then some." hmmm... maybe?! haha..

We need to see Mitch and Shannon again soon!!! WHAT IS YOUR SCHEDULE LOOKING LIKE?

so why don't you eat instead of take Tylenol? Ads don't work when they completely take away the need for a product.

Patrick and I had this same debate. Our final conclusion is too complicated/I'm too lazy to post it. Needless to say it's along the same lines as the Dove Campaign for real beauty--love yourself and our brand because we make you feel good so that when you don't, you can use us. yada yada yada. I do have to say one of the fun parts of living in SF is seeing all the big campaigns--they put their money in the cities!
