Cuil.com was started yesterday by the people that sold the search technology to Google. Apparently this time they've said they will not be selling. We were skeptical so we checked it out last night; it seems to be pretty sophisticated! Whenever you search it displays tabs for other search options, definitions of key result terms, and more. Here's what the Cuil team says about it, "The Internet has grown exponentially in the last fifteen years but search engines have not kept up—until now. Cuil searches more pages on the Web than anyone else—three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft." Three times as many as Google!
Cuil is an apparently an old Irish word for knowledge. So will it be th new Goolge or just another browser??

Too much going on on the web page for me. I like the simplicity of Google.
This really reminds me of when Ask tried to update their search engine. They offered similar features (like the tabs for other opions, but it never really caught on.
I agree... google is much simpler (not to mention the white screen is much easier on the eyes). I just tried cuil again today and it wouldn't return my search because I used too many words!!
boo on cuil
