Seattle for Thanksgiving

Mitch and I had a great time with my family in Seattle for the holiday! We love the gorgeous gray skies, evergreens and water all around. I honestly cry every time I fly home; the Northwest is gorgeous. My dad and Tommie recently moved to a lovely home in West Seattle that not only overlooks the Sound, but also Eddie Vedder's house. Dad said he can hear him jamming down there all the time! We spent our time with them catching up on Daniel Craig as James Bond and visiting Whidbey Island--a short 15 minute ferry ride from the city.

We also were able to attend Leanne's receiving of her endowments at the Seattle Temple. Her family has always taken me in like second parents--during trips home to Washington and their visits to Provo when we were at BYU. I love them and am so excited for Lea!

Trip highlights:
-Making an orange-rosemary roasted turkey for 16 people
-Rain
-Seeing Steve Ballmer at a Whidbey coffee shop
-Dessert night at Sip with my best friend from high school
-Playing the Wii until all my muscles were sore
-Celebrating my mom's bday with her
-Laughing until we cried and playing games with my family

Seattle is so gorgeous! HOpefully Dave does a rotation there. And what do you mean about my background? It fits perfectly for AZ, I mean, it's been in the 50's lately and it's freezing! Practically like snow :)

What a good trip. I've only been to Seattle once, but it was 75 degrees and sunny! I almost wanted to experience the rain there. And the view from your dad's house is amazing!

Your blog post makes me want to go to Sea Town in the worst way... gotta sell me some homes so I can get over there! How fun! You guys staying in town for Christmas? We want to come and see your place SOO bad, we talk about it all the time. It looks great in the pictures, but I bet that doesn't even do it justice. Please let me know when you have a night free. It may be after Christmas, but it would be so fun none the less.

Hope you and Mitch are both doing great. We miss you both!
