Summer’s End

We have mixed feelings about the summer coming to an end around here… on the one hand we are excited for the cooler weather and getting closer to my due date, but on the other summer is always a more relaxed time of year. We’ve had a great summer trying to pack in as many things as possible. I know that you can still do a lot of things when you have a baby, but part of us feels like it’s our “last summer” of free, go anywhere, do anything lifestyles. I must say though I’m tired from all the traveling. My body is really starting to slow down.

I’m playing a little catch up to recap the past month of our summer…

Last spring one of my best friends and her husband planned a couples’ weekend to California and we’d been counting down ever since! Sarah’s parents were renting out their amazing home on the beach, but didn’t have anyone in it this summer so she asked several couples to come stay over. Can’t say no to that!

We hung out at the beach…

Read a mixture of C.S. Lewis and grocery store tabloids, P1030590

Ate amazing Sprinkles’ cupcakes. My new favorite is raspberry… yum.

And got to watch our husbands body board… P1030597 Thanks for a marvelous trip Sarah and Patrick. We are already counting down until next year.

The rest of the past month has also been great, though my back is starting to hurt more and more. This baby is getting big!

We had a great anniversary dinner at Sundance.

Mitch has been hiking the Wasatch peaks over 11,000 ft. with his friend. The hike Saturdays consist of him waking up at 4am for his hikes and returning home around 11am once just in time to meet me back from the gym and grocery shopping. I clearly have not been able to participate in these intense hikes, but Mitch and Bubba indulged the pregnant wives to take us on this calmer hike to Secret Lake in Albion Basin for a lovely hike this weekend.

Hello cooler weather, autumn colors in the Canyons, and BYU Football (our good friend and former football player almost broke his chair from stress this weekend at our BYU game get-together! We were about to get ulcers from the stress of it, but we had a blast watching that win!). Goodbye summer :)

Even though I'm sad to see summer go, the fall is going to be wonderful. I love when leaves change color, the temperatures are just right instead of too hot, BYU football, and of course....BABIES will be born!

I LOVE the hike picture - makes me so excited to be there in November and again in December! My little ones will be surprised and delighted to be introduced to snow I'm sure. :p

That hike looks amazing! I miss Utah so much when I see that (and you of course). I'm glad you guys had a great summer and I also can't believe you're having a baby so soon.

Can't wait to chat!
