9 Down, 1 to Go!

Last month my doctor moved my due date up to November 19th—one month from today! I cannot believe that no one tells you more often that you are really pregnant for 10 months. I really do feel like I’ve been pregnant for a long time.

Here is my 9 month shot; the belly just keeps growing!

Here’s what’s been happening the past month or two. I can’t really remember the last time I updated because I can’t remember much these days.

- I started feeling really uncomfortable for the first time. Until about 2 weeks ago I never really felt too awkward, but when your stomach gets to a certain point even tasks like bending over become a challenge! Sometimes I feel really pathetic asking Mitch or a co-worker to help me pick up something I dropped.

- Pillows. Lots of pillows are necessary for comfortable sleep. One under the side of the stomach, another under the back, one under the feet, another between the legs, and at least two under the head. It’s pillow-mania at our house right now.

- We can feel the actual body of baby boy in my stomach! We can feel his bum or foot as they push out on my stomach. I cannot describe how wonderful it is to feel that he is healthy and active.

- For the first time in my pregnancy on Friday, my ankles started hurting. I had been on my feet all day Thursday for work and a work party, and I woke up Friday morning to pain. By Friday after work I was miserable! (Visualize pushing your thumb into your ankle and having the indent stick.) Mitch had me put my feet up all weekend, iced them for me, and did all the household things like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. while I had my feet up on the glider. He is too nice. I feel so badly, but after he made me rest I’m feeling really good today.

- I am looking forward to ward, work, and friend/family showers in the coming weeks!

- My friends like to touch my stomach now too and feel the baby, and it’s fun to show other people his movement. I definitely don’t mind friends feeling the tummy—I guess I only find it weird when I barely know someone and they start touching it.

- We’ve had a plethora of boxes arriving from family and friends for baby. Thank you for the pack-n-play, baby bjorn, nursing cover, baby clothes, hats, toys, baskets, blankets, etc. I know baby boy loves them already ;)

- We are loving our birthing class and learning so much. We also completed a nursing class last month and learned more in 3 hours than I could have imagined.

- My daily food indulgences are: ice, ice water, brie (pasteurized of course), chocolate soy milk, and yogurt (craving protein all the time!).

- We purchased our baby-recording device last month, and have loved it so far:

We really cannot wait for baby boy to be here. Here’s to a pain-free last month :)

He will be here before you know it! I hope you don't get too uncomfortable. Pillows are the answer! And you are right, feeling your baby move is the best...until you can hold them!
