Ten Months

P1060539

This post is a little late... Baby Emerson is a kid now. He has a fun and slightly crazy personality, is extremely active and mobile, and he just doesn’t look like a little baby anymore. I do miss when he was teeny (well he’s still pretty light—20 lbs!), but as kids get older they become really fun. I have to admit, I still go into his room every night before we go to bed to check on him, and I always come back into our room and say, “That kid… I just love him.” Do parents still check on their kids like that when they’re rebellious teenagers?

Here’s what E has been up to:

- Almost walking. He is cruising on everything and has mastered the stand-in-place-for-20-seconds-without-holding-on-to-anything move. I’m really hoping it takes him a long time to walk; I think he’s going to be a lot faster than me and I’m scared.

- He loves cheese. Just devours it. We usually have it with veggies for lunch. Also tried pasta and ate it so quickly it made me a little frightened he may have inherited my carb and cheese addictions.

- Eats meat in nice little jars of pureed food, mixed with grains and veggies. He hasn’t made the plunge into eating real pieces of meat yet.

- Still in love with his Eric Carle elephant (thank you Laura).

- He is actually starting to sit and pay attention to books during reading time every morning; he is even pointing to the pictures and helps me turn the pages.

- Already gave him another hair cut. If only my hair would grow as fast as his.

- He’s had his bottom two teeth since about 7 months, but is just now getting top teeth. And get this, they aren’t the middle top two teeth, but the fangs! We joked with our friends that he should be a vampire for Halloween.

Look how happy he is with Jamie…

I think he actually kind of looks like me in this below picture; maybe it’s just the expression, or the hand.P1060537

Sometimes I help my working friends by watching their kiddos during the day; Emerson and Seiji have so much fun together… makes babysitting easy.P1060578

I went to lunch with some friends from my old company and stopped by the office beforehand to say hi to everyone. My old boss gave Emerson this soft baseball toy; he is obsessed with it. He crawls around all day holding it. I’m really excited he’s liking the baseball, because let’s face it, he’s probably not going to be a football player if his weight stays in the 5th%!P1060560

We’re off to see his little girlfriend this week for her 1 year birthday. Can’t wait!

He is a handsome little boy. There's nothing wrong with loving pasta and cheese! It is so yummy. It is fun to see them try new foods and just devour them. He is going to be walking before you know it.

As for checking on kids before going to bed, I still check on Tyler even though he is 3 going on 13!
