January

We’ve been busy around here, just enjoying the lovely Utah inversion air. One of my friend’s sons has asthma and can’t even go out on red air days. They say it’s like breathing second hand smoke. I bet reading this is just making you want to pack up and move to Salt Lake. On a positive note I am completely over my morning sickness! Just as it did with Emerson, the vomiting stopped at 14 weeks. Hallelujah! I am 16 weeks now and feel great. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

We’ve had a few random clear, sunny days. We took advantage of this by visiting our favorite playground. Emerson loves chasing the big kids around and zooming down the slides.

Emerson has been quite picky about food lately. All I can get him to eat includes: green beans, cous cous, black beans, apples, yogurt, and smoothies. (Also I gave him another haircut—this kid has probably had over 10 in his life already.)IMGP2503

Check out the apple.P1070131

Mom lunch dates:

With Jess and Lola. This date consisted of two pregnant women, two toddlers, lots of food, and lots of play time at the mall’s awesome indoor playground.P1070147

My favorite was Emerson pushing Lola’s stroller. Melt my heart why don’t you?

E’s new favorite discovery is his belly. He runs around lifting his shirt up and patting his belly. IMGP2514

His favorite toy/food: his toothbrush. I think it tastes like candy to him, which would make sense for most normal kids, but seeing as Emerson won’t eat candy or cake or anything like that, I have no clue why he loves this toothbrush so much. When we go to the clubhouse to workout, he runs around sucking it. Whatever makes him happy.IMGP2489

Lots of babysitting with E’s best bud:

Mesmerized by Baby Wordsworth… and yes it’s accidentally in French. We burned the CD and the language settings didn’t convert. Oops.

Lunch and play date with Luke and Hutch.

Drinking lots of raw green smoothies; more to come on this soon.IMGP2466

And the usual climbing into all sorts of things. Check out that position!IMGP2411

This past weekend we had a fun date night on Friday and an amazing Stake Conference. Our old Bishop was called as the new stake president (he’s only 34!). He is definitely one of the best people I’ve ever known and am excited to have a stake president we are so close with. So other than the freezing and polluted air, we are having a nice January.

Aww wow January was busy for you guys! Love E's haircut and well everything about him. Luke loves his toothbrush too (he has 3) especially the vibrating one and I NEVER leave home without it because it is a life saver. People always make fun of him when it's on because it is loud and draws a lot of attention. Maybe our boys will be dentists?? Great to hear about Bishop/President Bulent. He really is an amazing man.

Missing you guys....not the polluted air!
We are currently addicted to the never ending sun :)

Eliot has a love affair with his toothbrush too. Healthy teeth are always cool. Way to go Emererson!

I am so like you, I give Gaines a haircut every 3 weeks, I swore I would not be a mom afraid to cut their precious baby hair, gag, come on people, they are boys and don't need to look like girls. I'm sure you know people like that too? And we are totally on a green smoothie kick lately. Bella tells me that she LOVES spinach, and sweet potatoes...in smoothies of course, ha. She is like, "Mom, can you put broccoli and asparagus in my smoothie so I don't taste it?"

Your little E is looking so old all of a sudden! Cannot believe how fast the time has gone!
