Handyman House Updates

Before my trip Mitch said he wanted to get a couple house projects done. First he wanted to build a proper work bench to store, organize, and use all his tools. He has several kinds of saws and power tools, most of which I cannot recall the names. He also wanted a peg board on top for his hand tools. He then wanted to get Emerson’s new room done, as I’d requested some groove board (like a straighter bead board) with some grey and white stripes on the walls. On top of these things, he surprised me by doing crown molding in our office and living room areas—something we’d talked about for a while but never gotten around to doing. Let’s just say he went to work every day then came home and worked all night when I was gone. Poor guy is exhausted! But I love everything he did! So thank you honey… you are so talented and meticulous.

I told him we’re the perfect pair—I dream up things I want and he builds/creates them. He said I got the easy end of that deal ;)

Here’s E’s new room (for anyone who has stayed with us, this is our old guest room; I am a little sad we won’t have that space anymore). We are currently assembling the bunk bed and have to finish the bedding, décor, etc. but here is Mitch’s work. I love it.

Here is what the room used to look like:

I think Emerson likes it too. Good thing because we’ll probably have to lock him in there at night when he’s learning how to sleep in a normal bed; as my sister says, the room becomes their new crib!IMGP3002

Oh Shannon I love it. I was just going to post on your facebook wall that I wanted to see all of Mitch's handywork. I love the grey + white stripes. Can't wait to see what else you add to that room. Your house is just gorgeous, and I'm glad your back safely from your trip. xoxo.

It's all so beautiful. I am impressed how quickly you get projects done in our house. We have a long list, but it takes waayyy longer to get anything done than we ever anticipate. I guess we'll never be bored. I love the stripes in E's room. As always, you have such fabulous style!

Wow! I love that room. How perfect for a little boy. I think Nate would stare at me blankly if I asked him to do something like that - not quite the handyman :)
