17 Months

What has Emerson been up to you might ask, while we’ve been traveling and busy with spring home projects? Just the usual crazy antics. He also started throwing tantrums within the past couple weeks! Fun stuff. My books tell me kids this age get frustrated because they can finally communicate what they want, but we as parents start saying no, so they are frustrated because they think we can’t understand them. Makes sense. My favorite is when he sits down and kicks his legs when we’re trying to get him to go somewhere!

But we love him all the same... I just love his personality. He is so pensive, fun, kind, outgoing, determined, and active. He loves animals like crazy and loves the outdoors. He will sit still when he is trying to figure out how things work, like buttons and containers with lids. He can climb up anything, will wiggle out of your arms in an instant, but shares toys with his friends and gives you a high five when you ask. He also never lets me forget to pray when we’re eating because he folds his arms first thing when we sit down. And his favorite words are yes and hi. Who can complain about that?

Here is a huge slew of pictures; probably more than anyone will want to see but me, Mitch, and our families! But nonetheless, here they are:

I’m trying to soak up these last couple months of me and Emerson time while we have the days alone before baby #2. Love you little man.

I felt the same way with Tyler. I wanted to go do anything fun and memorable with him before I had Hannah. He really is turning into a little boy, not so much baby anymore. He is as handsome as ever!

I know it is cliche' but where did the time go? They are getting so, so big. River has started the tantrums too and I am doing my best not to encourage them by smiling at the cuteness of it. I'm sure the cuteness wears off quick. E is adorable.

Mitch and Emerson are SOOO cute!! I miss them. Oh - and I miss you too. :)

I love the pics of E... especially coloring at your gorgeous kitchen table with the infamous peasant bread a-rising in the background. Classic.
