Life has been good (minus the freezing temperature here!). We are settling into a groove.
On Mondays Emerson has preschool for just a couple hours. It’s perfect for a 2 year-old. He loves it!
At school they gave us book order forms from Scholastic. Do you remember these? I loved them as a kid.
During the middle of the week we spend our time at the gym and exploring new sites around our town. The gym here has the most amazing child center and a separate infant-dedicated care area, so the kids love going. Emerson gets to play in tubes and slides and run around while Vieve hangs out with the babies. I get 2 hours of time for myself. I’ve also loved taking Emerson swimming while the baby is in the infant care.
On Thursdays we do reading time at the library. It’s the nicest library and the story time is dedicated to toddlers, so Emerson is in heaven. They read books, sing, dance, learn letters and numbers, and more. I’m so proud of how much Emerson is learning. He knows his whole alphabet, is counting, and can sound out every letter when we read.
Here we are at the library story room—some friends from our ward go too and it’s been fun to get to know some other moms.
On Wednesday nights I’ve been playing volleyball with women from the stake, and on Thursday Mitch plays stake basketball.
Also I’ve been cooking a lot. Last weekend we had some friends over and made homemade Café Rio pork salads. We miss Café Rio!
We also went to a brunch so I made the Cinnabon clone cinnamon rolls. Way too fattening, but really good.
I’m going to try to be better about posting more projects and recipes on my Shan Made blog again, to keep everyone updated. We are missing everyone in Utah but getting into a great routine here.

That gym child care sounds amazing! Sounds like MN is a great place to live.
My mouth is watering right now. Those look so yummy. I have to say you have the best attitude about things. I love you are jumping in with both feet in MN.
I swear I left a comment on this post.... It is fun to see the little snippets of life for you in a new place. Glad that things are going well and you are getting into a routine there...finding your new normal. Same activities, new friends, new places.
