Kids really do make holidays better—not only because they are more fun but also because it forces us to remember the true meaning of things! We loved having FHE about Easter last week, prepping the kids for Sunday and trying to talk as much as we could about Jesus and the resurrection. Admittedly I really can’t understand how bunnies and eggs got involved with all of this! But we loved trying to make it fun and meaningful for the little ones.
Last week we had A-days about Easter and made some cute buckets for the girls. We decided that instead of candy in their eggs we’d have them write gifts they could give to Christ for Easter in them. It was a lot of fun! My awesome companion also taught about how commercial Easter symbols can be linked back to the real meaning of Easter (with a stretch of our minds ;).
These kids pretty much are the cutest. Vieve is slightly obsessed with E.
She loves to say “cheeeeese” for the camera.
Toys & books for the kids, Starburst jellybeans for Mitch and me.
I had to get a shot of the coat Vieve’s been wearingi to church all winter. I got it last spring on Target clearance for $4 and pretty much it is adorable. Look at her!
These cute smiles make up for the hardest day we had at church with the kids in a long time!! I blame the sugar and sweets. I was in the hall for half of sacrament giving Emerson timeouts. Genevieve was flailing and crying with Mitch in the hall. Needless to say we were sweating. They usually are pretty good at church but I think candy and treats just make kids go a little crazy. Maybe I’ll have to just eat their candy for them next year?

Easter Sunday was hard for us too. River was a trainwreck. Our Sacrament was last and I finally couldn't take it anymore. We left with 15 minutes of church to go. Good to know I wasn't the only one.
