Thanksgiving Week 2013

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Friends, family, food, cooking the start of the holidays but not the busy-ness of Christmas. I love it! This year we got together with a group of friends in our ward who are all also transplants to Minnesota. We had about 10 families together at Kirsten’s house on Thanksgiving day. They have a huge basement playroom so it was heaven for the kids (and us!). All the kids played down there for hours. We had a fun time as adults just hanging, chatting, and eating.

Two days before thanksgiving we had our pie party. Pie! It is glorious. I love pie. Mostly berry pies but I do love a good cream pie too. There are few better things than friends showing up to your home each with a pie in hand. I love pie night. Here are some photos from the week. Also I’m proud to say I’ve never been Black Friday shopping. I hate how they’re starting the sales on Thanksgiving now. Booo! Spend time with your families people.

I made a turkey the night before so we could have leftovers. Love turkey!2013-11-27 15.35.58 2013-11-26 14.17.49 2013-11-26 19.32.232013-11-26 18.46.06 We have so much to be thankful for this year. Most of all I’m thankful for the Gospel. I know that it helps us through all of lives’ ups and downs and helps us improve ourselves and our families. Most importantly I’m thankful for temples that allow us to be sealed together as families forever. Happy (belated) thanksgiving!
