Memorial Weekend & Birthweek

We had a great week celebrating Memorial Day and the beginning of Birthweek. I came home last week to find a printed calendar on the fridge--it was coded by day with the things planned for Birthweek. I love Mitch's thoughtfulness... he gets so excited every day to tell me what the surprises are! Thus far it has included movies, a pedicure, ice cream, camping, pooling it up, and a documentary I've been wanting to see for a while.

Weekend Backpacking Trip

In retrospect, hiking up this bouldery trail was probably a bad idea.. I get so out of breath lately I had to stop every 20 yards.

When you're camping, you're always grateful for a resourceful husband who can find great campsites, build roaring fires, and monkey through the wilderness to find gorgeous views. Last summer we didn't get many pics of camping, so I'm trying to document better...

Salt Lake Bees Game... whenever we go to events like this we always end up sitting girls on one side, guys on the other. On the left we were probably talking about dating stories, on the right MLB stats and business.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Cupcakes with the Girls
Donut Falls Hike ... taking it easy on the family trail after a long weekend of backpacking.

Afternoon BBQ

And, quite possibly the grossest thing you will ever see--a picture of my stomach! I won't even include my face in these pictures because the cheeks are getting so monstrous! (see: all pictures above for reference)

You're beautiful! What a pretty mommy you are already. Mitch is darling to plan so much for you. It seems that he's also a photographer in the making, what with those incredible vistas and water shots. Way to go you two! Love you.

(and thank you for making my day with a new post to read!!)

for real! you guys are such exciting little travelers! my cousins are way outdoorsy and campy too, and once a bambino came along they didn't let him slow them down a bit. all three of their kids are seasoned campers now, so don't feel like things are going to end as soon as the baby comes!

also, take the pictures, even if you don't feel cute. i didn't document my belly with claire and i regret it so much--i'd love to be able to compare next time around. i think your little bump is darling! and clearly you're having a great hair day even if your cheeks are getting bigger!!! ;)

What a great weekend! I know what you mean about having a resourceful husband when it comes to the outdoors. He's one person I know would keep us alive! As for the baby bump picture...super cute! I'm to the point now, that I elastic all my jeans and wear any long shirt I can find to cover it up. The things we do! ;)

Shannon!! Congrats to you and Mitch both. Yea! I am so so so very excited for you. I know this is belated because I've fallen off the face of the earth for over a month now-- I feel terrible that I'm just now finding out & telling you congratulations! But seriously, you are one gorgeous pregnant woman. :) It's so fun to think about what amazing parents you will be. I'm just glad that the baby is healthy and happy... and that you're starting to feel better! You will have to keep me posted on when you'll be having a baby shower so I can help spoil this little baby! :) Ahh! So fun!!

Awww happy birthday! What a sweet hubby :) It looks like you guys had so much fun! Holy cow...I know what you mean about getting winded so fast! I feel like after walking up stairs I'm a grandma huffing and puffing away. Speaking of puffing, your cheeks are NOT huge!

Haha you are too funny, you look GREAT even though I know it's hard to feel it when pregnant, especially during the in between stage of not really showing and just feeling large. Once you look back later you'll see you look fantastic!
