Bathroom Project

Our drab and unattended downstairs bathroom has been the last of our worries in our home for the past year and a half, what with trying to get everything ready for the baby. Last summer though, it really started bugging me, being so white and plain. I really wanted to display some pictures of landmarks from England, France, and Italy we’d taken on our trip to Europe in ‘07 and during my Study Abroad in ‘05.

So about 7 months ago we went to DI (this is when we had that infamous run-in with the rude cashier!) and picked up a a bunch of old frames (for $1 each). We then purchased some spray paint for the frames and later some paint for the bathroom walls… months and months passed and these items have been collecting dust in our garage. I kept saying, one day I’ll get to that! Well that day arrived a couple weeks ago when I began tackling the project during E’s naps.

It’s not that much different, but I still get happy when I walk by and see it a lot more complete looking than before. Here is the finished product:

During:

P1040592 P1040595

P1040596 P1040704

We love it. Can a room be pleasant to go to the bathroom in? I now think so. (Especially for $40.)P1040747

I LOVE that bathroom. Isn't the DI wonderful, except for mean cashiers? What a great and artistic way to display your beautiful pictures.

Paint is an amazing thing. Really.

And I like the details on those frames. So unique. Sigh for no DI here.
