This little guy is growing again. I couldn’t believe the date yesterday when I saw it was June 9th! It’s so fun for us to see him grow; I love even looking back at these monthly posts from just a couple months ago and seeing his growth. I also find my blog is becoming a nice tracker of milestones to record in my journal.
Here’s what’s going on with Emerson this month:
- He is extremely playful; he smiles and screams and sings all the time. He is usually in the best mood just after his naps.
- He is SO wiggly and active. He is definitely NOT a cuddler! I always try to cuddle him and he’s wiggling out of my arms in seconds.
- His first 2 teeth broke through a couple weeks ago. I was and am surprised that he hasn’t been fussy about it. I keep waiting for it to really bug him, but he seems to be a tough kid. Whenever he bonks his head on the hardwood or on a wall or accidentally flings a wooden toy at his head, it seems to not phase him. Maybe he’s still too young for pain to register?
- While E is an awesome sleeper in his own bed, he is not good at all at sleeping on the go. His naps while we’re out in his car seat are 30 – 40 mins tops. I love making sure we’re home for his naps so he’ll sleep for 2 hours (or more). One of my friends has a baby who falls asleep anywhere, around any kind of noise; at church we sit behind them and try to show E how his buddy does it (our friends just put a blanket over his face and he’s out!). Our little guy definitely needs his white noise and quiet room.
- He’ll eat anything. I’ve never seen such a non-picky baby about food. He loves peas, bananas with mango, apples (mashed and whole pieces), sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, pears, and blueberries with apple.
- He isn’t crawling yet, but scoots everywhere really fast on his tummy. If I put a toy two rooms away from him he’ll pant and scoot to it on his tummy. When I’m cooking and he’s in the living room he sees me and scoots over to play near me. So cute.
- The hardest part of the week for E is definitely Church. It’s right during his morning nap time, so he doesn’t sleep well. Also, he’s started getting really bugged nursing under a cover, so when I’m in the mother’s lounge he is always try to pull it off. Not fun! And in class, he gets bugged when we try to get him to sit still or play in a small area on the ground. I don’t know how moms do it at church with lots of kids!
- We’ve been to the pool several times with his little buddy Hutch, and he loved the water. He kicks like crazy when we’re in the pool. He preferred the indoor pool to the outdoor one because the sun wasn’t in his eyes.

All the girls with “newborn” boys from our mom’s lunch. They are getting big!

He is too cute Shannon. I can't believe he is already 7 months. Time is going by too fast.
CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!!
They really do grow out of the cuddly stage way too fast! I'm glad to hear he isn't a picky eater. It is wonderful! Happy seven months Emerson.
Awww... he melts my heart. Can't wait to play with him!
I love his skinny little legs!
