Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great balance this weekend of fun and relaxing activities. On Friday we celebrated my birthday with the day in Park City and an evening date night. Mitch surprised me with flowers, breakfast, taking the day off work, and a ticket to come with me to Texas this month when I watch my sister’s kiddos! I could not be more excited (and relieved) that he is coming. I don’t know what I was thinking assuming I could watch her 4 kids plus Emerson for a long weekend while they go to a wedding, by myself. With Mitch there it won’t be a chore, but a really fun time. Mitch is so good with Jules’ kids. They love him and always ask to talk to “Uncle Mitchy” when Jules and I are on the phone.

Sadly, I didn’t have my camera with me on my bday. But it was a great day of shopping, food, and our little family. What could be better? A big thank you to Mitch’s fam for watching E at night so we could have a little date.

On Saturday evening we had a great time at dinner with friends and then a little party at our place. Bubba and Jordan brought over the yummiest chocolate cake for my birthday (chocolate cake is always a hit with me!). We played games and ate way too much sugar.

All the baby boys! (There must be something in the water in our neighborhood; everyone had boys this year.)P1050180

On Monday Mitch planned a fun hike in Millcreek Canyon; we had a great time on the Desolation Lake trail. It was so green! It really made me miss Seattle and the gorgeous Cascade Mountains.

Last week Mitch got some SL Bees tickets from a vendor at work, so we BBQed with Paul and Rachel and then headed to the game. We gave E his last nap a little late so he could stay up later, and he was a champ at the game! We didn’t leave until 10 and he was happy as can be. I couldn’t believe it. He usually goes to bed at 7:45!

It’s always sad when long, fun weekends come to an end. Can’t wait until the next holiday weekend.

First of all... HAPPY BDAY! Secondly, I love the last picture of Emerson. Does it get any cuter than that?! I'm so glad you had a blast celebrating your birthday and Memorial Day weekend. I swear I thought about calling you 3 times this past week and never did it. But just warning you that I will be calling you soon! :) Prep yourself. Haha! Tell Mitch "way to go" for coming with you to Texas. That will be so fun!

That last picture of Emerson is the cutest! Steve has been itching to get out hiking too. Sounds like the perfect weekend.
