Walking

I’ve been trying to stay busy to keep from noticing that I’m still injured... So we’ve been going on lots of walks. In the morning and afternoon most days. It’s great that I’m getting a lot better at walking, but not so great that I literally have to have a friend with me at the park so if Emerson runs away from me someone else can catch him.  A couple weeks ago, Mitch scored this awesome double BOB for me at the REI garage sale for $265 (used). Remember when we bought our single BOB there and sold it for $100 more a year later? Love how BOBs retain their value.

Now, you may be wondering why we need a double BOB when we already have a Phil & Teds… before I hurt my knee I was getting really excited to start running again. Problem is, running isn’t great with the Phil & Teds with two kids in it. It’s definitely doable but not great. I told Mitch I wanted to use some money from my business to buy a double BOB—because it’s not something I need but something I wanted. (I dream of having an army of strollers one day—one for every occasion!)

Mitch got up early to head to the REI garage sale a couple Saturdays ago and picked up the double BOB because it was such a great deal. I was half excited to have it, and half depressed that I couldn’t use it to actually jog for several more months. I am hoping they pass quickly.

I still can’t get down on the floor to change a diaper, but I can sit on the floor now and get up without a huge production, so I am making progress! My physical therapist says she’s never seen anyone progress as quickly as I have, so that is something to be happy about. Also, the stroller acts like a walker when I’m out. I’m really starting to feel like an old person with this injury!

REI garage sales are the bomb! We scored our single BOB, never used for $150. Can't beat that!

That is a great deal! Finding a good jogging stroller isn't easy. I hope you keep progressing and getting stronger so you can use it!
