This weekend was so much fun. Yes I am dead tired and slept very little, but usually that’s when you have the most fun, right?
On Friday, we had a mom’s lunch and I loved letting Emerson run around with his little friends while I enjoyed a meal with mine. Thank goodness for restaurant banquet rooms. The balloons kept this kids entertained nicely.
Friday evening one of my best guy friends from good ol’ BYU freshman year came to hang out with us. Sadly his wife was at home in CA, but Dave and Bonnie are the best. Dave made us laugh for hours while we chatted and reminisced about those crazy freshman days, as well as gushed about the kids we have now. BYU really does produce life-long friendships.
Case in point, one of my best friends Leanne was also in town this weekend. We went to her sister’s baby blessing and spent Saturday with her amazing family… we basically laughed until we cried we had so much fun together. Her family is like my second family and I adore them.
Saturday afternoon I was able to go to the temple. Nowadays Mitch and I have to split our temple trips. He went on Thursday, while I watched the kids, and I went Saturday. It was completely empty too—such a good idea to go on Utah/BYU game day… no one was there!
Saturday evening we went to a friend’s house to watch the football game with some other families. We had about half BYU and half U of U fans there. Definitely makes for a more fun game-watching experience to have fans from both sides there, unless your team is being slaughtered… ugh. Wow, that game was miserable to watch. Even in the first 5 minutes Mitch said they just didn’t look like they were playing well.
But Genevieve does look cute in her BYU shirt (Emerson’s old t-shirt!) with Priya.
Then we had Leanne over again for dinner on Sunday… my kids just love her. She runs around with Emerson and holds baby Vieve all the time. Thank you BYU for so many wonderful friendships with awesome people.
Today I am exhausted, but we did have a great weekend.
