Out & About

Here are some recent pictures of life lately… we’ve been staying busy here taking the kids to new places. Last weekend we went to the Minnesota Zoo. It’s huge—they have a monorail and a live dolphin show! That place is like a mini disneyland with animals ;)IMG_3162

Every week I take Emerson swimming at the gym—after my workout I go get him from the kids’ center, leave Genevieve in infant care, and take him to the pool. We have so much fun!IMG_3271

A friend Mitch works with lives about 5 minutes away from us. Their kids are just about the same age as our kids… we love just sitting out in their driveway on warm nights and letting the kids run around.IMG_3316

Date nights. We’ve found some great babysitters here so we’ve been able to take advantage of this and have lots of dates here! Last weekend we went with a group of people from our ward to see the Hunger Games. I brought candy in my purse for everyone. Oops, overload!

The Minnesota Trails are amazing! Every neighborhood has trails near it. Ours is just a 2 minute walk from our house… these trails connect everything in Minnesota. You can even get downtown without touching a road. Biking here is great.

And today we went to the Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul. It was amazing and huge! I cannot believe how big things for kids are here. Emerson had a blast.

Sorry for the picture overload! It’s been way too long since I’ve blogged, so I’m trying to catch up and make sure I document our life here. I had a hard week last week missing our friends in Utah. Even though I know we’re supposed to be here, it’s still hard sometimes! So we’re trying to do as much as we can to get to know MN better. We do really like it here, but it just doesn’t feel like home yet. Hopefully as we explore more we’ll feel more rooted here :)

Shannon, I just admire that you jump in with both feet getting to know people and the city. It looks like Minnesota has so many fun family things!

You're convincing me more and more that we should move to Minnesota. It looks like a great place with so much to do. Plus you're there - biggest reason to go ;). We miss you lots, too. It's just not the same without you. I work the next 4 nights straight, but I'll call you soon. Love you!

Seriously I want to move there. It looks awesome! Do they have seminary in MN? ;)

I would move back to the Mid West in a sec... that gym is AMAZING! I miss all the trees... even if it is still wintry and they don't have leaves.

You have PB M&M's and Swedish Fish at the movies...my favorite & Matt's favorite! You're cool. I love the trail system out there! You'd think Santa Cruz would have all that since there are so many cyclists, but it's hazardous out there! Hope it starts feeling like home soon, moving is hard even if you know it's where you're supposed to be. xoxo
