11 Months

IMG_6172_1

I heard a quote the other day that the days are long but the years are quick. I think that is the perfect way to sum up motherhood of young children. Sometimes I’m just counting down the minutes until Mitch gets home from work because I’m so exhausted by the end of the day! (Okay, maybe every day.) But then when I think about the fact that Vieve is almost a year old, I feel like the time has just whizzed by. Where is my little snuggly baby girl who I feel like I just delivered in Salt Lake? My little girl is cruising, crawling, more wiggly than ever and looks like a little girl, not a baby. Vieve stop growing up so fast!IMG_6174

The older Vieve gets though, the more I’m excited for her to keep growing up because I am pretty sure she’s going to be just about the most fun person alive. I cannot wait to hang out with her when she’s older - cook together, sew together, go shopping, and play volleyball (a girl can dream right?). She is just so so happy. I wish everyone could know her. Could a little girl be any cuter in a swimsuit?IMG_5863

At 11 months she is quite talkative. She loves to squeal and she has a special laugh that only Emerson can get out of her. She is enamored with Emerson and smitten with her daddy. She gets so happy when Mitch comes home every day. She loves the bath and kicks her legs the entire time she’s in the bath—my clothes end up completely drenched with water. When she’s sad or sick she screams for ma-ma. She eats lots of fruits and veggies, loves cheese, and recently Goldfish crackers. She loves smoothies and I’ve started giving her a little bit of real milk which she seems to like a lot. She’s been sleeping through the night since she was about 6 months old. She goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up around 8am. She takes 2-3 naps per day, usually 1-2 hours each, but if she misses one she’ll take a 3 hour nap. She does not like to be held to sleep (just like Emerson) and is really starting to not like cuddling. Sad for me! Our kids just aren’t cuddlers. I’m praying I’ll get one someday.

We are so lucky to have Genevieve as our baby girl.
