Two weekends ago Mitch took Emerson to our ward’s father/son campout. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Emerson so excited to go anywhere! All day he was saying, “go camping with daddy, go camping with daddy” and just didn’t understand why he had to wait until Mitch got home from work. I can’t imagine anything better than a bunch of awesome dads/church & youth leaders hanging out with their sons.
All week Emerson was playing with his sleeping bag.
He had his first campfire and s’mores. Quite possibly the best picture ever— eating his first s’more. Look at that face!
(Slightly reminds me of this picture of me eating at La Maison du Chocolat for the first time in Paris. Emerson must be my child. His love of chocolate is genetic.)
One thing I love about Emerson is how much he just thinks he’s so much older than he is… he just jumped into the older boys’ football game and played with them!
Mitch said E wouldn’t take the head lamp off.
Even though they didn’t sleep much, Mitch and E had a great time. While they were gone Vieve and I had a fun night together. We ate caprese salad and I painted her toenails.
It was a great weekend for all of us!
