Last week Mitch was out of town from Tuesday until the early afternoon on Valentine’s Day, so the kids and I had some fun getting ready for V-day in E’s preschool class (they had a little party) and getting ready for Mitch to come home.
The week before I celebrated with my A-days girls by making this little paint-swatch heart banners and Love cards with them.
For Emerson’s class, we made dipped Oreo cookies with sprinkles, and attached a Cars valentine and pencil to each. Emerson wrote his name on each one! I helped with his classmates names.
The night before Mitch got home Emerson helped me cut out some paper hearts and we brainstormed things we love about daddy. Some included we love his tickle parties and we love his hugs. Emerson helped me hang these up and was so excited for Mitch to see them when he got home!
We also made Mitch’s favorite angel food cake, strawberries, and whipped cream.
That evening one of our favorite babysitters came over, a sweet young woman from our ward, and watched the kids so we could go for a nice dinner. She even brought the kids little valentine’s—they loved it!
Mitch set up the best date at an amazing Italian restaurant! They had a prix fixe 3-course menu. We each got an appetizer, meal, and nice dessert. It was heaven to relax with Mitch and not have kids pulling on me! I have started having lots of contractions though so I had to take it easy. Was sure the perfect way to spend V-day with Mitch!
Salted caramel gelato with a truffle mousse soufflé. SO good!
Probably one of our last nice dates out before we have three kids. Glad we got to have some nice down time.
